The front battery can only control the front hub, it cannot control electronic devices. The automatic start of your bicycle when you step on the pedals is due to the specific calibration of the torque sensor. The sensor is designed to have a very sensitive start-up reaction, meaning it doesn't require a full pedal rotation before the motor kicks in. The R1 Pro, in particular, supports uphill starts with motor power syncing perfectly with pedal force, and there is no delay. The unique feature of the torque sensor is that the motor output is directly related to the pedal force.
